The OFW Galaxy is committed to developing an environment that promotes fun, good sportsmanship, and personal and athletic growth for its young athletes. Parents/spectators shall treat players, referees and coaches with respect. Regardless of intent, parents/spectators are role models for children. Denigrating players, referees and coaches sets a poor example for your child, undermines the team, and fosters poor behavior in others.
Expected behavior for parents/spectators includes:
Recognizing and applauding good play on both sides.
Encouraging your child's commitment to his/her team.
Honoring the game by never criticizing players, coaches or referees either explicitly or implicitly. Referees are going to make bad calls and players are going to make mistakes. Feel free to be a fan, but remember that your child is watching and will most likely mimic your behavior.
Encouraging other spectators to honor these expectations.
-
The OFW Galaxy promotes good conduct by all participants. OFW Galaxy team members and coaches will respect all players, coaches, referees, parents and spectators.
As members of our teams OFW Galaxy players agree to:Play hard but fair. Play by the rules of the game.
Demonstrate sportsmanship. Recognize and applaud good play by your teammates and opponents. Win with dignity and lose with grace.
Be committed to the team. Attend and pay attention at practices and games. Support your teammates.
Compete every second of every practice and game.
Respect referees by politely accepting their decisions. Never talk back or show up an official.
Respect coaches by valuing and appreciating their instruction and hard work. Ask questions. Seek to improve.
Encourage your teammates to honor the Player Code of Conduct.
Parents/guardians are expected to help their child understand and honor these commitments as a member of the OFW Galaxy.

Depending on the extent of the violation, a parent/spectator may be asked to leave a practice/tournament or the Team GroupMe. If any violent or threatening acts occur, the local law enforcement will be notified.
If any minor violation occurs with a player, the coach will first issue a verbal warning that the player has violated the Player Code of Conduct.
If a second violation occurs, the player’s parent, the Program Director (Coach Finley) will be notified and a written warning will be issued to the player and his parent.
If a third violation occurs, a parent/director meeting will be scheduled in an attempt to resolve issues, grievances, or concerns. At that time, the decision will be made solely by Coach Finley whether that player will continue on with our team. If any violent act occurs, the player may be immediately dismissed from the team.Failure to adhere to the aforementioned rules and codes by participants may result in forfeiture of playing time, participation fees and team membership.

The OFW Galaxy will participate in a series of competitive tournaments throughout the 2023 Spring/Summer season. Every player who dresses for a game can expect to play in that game, with coaches giving consideration for injuries, fouls, illness, etc. Due to the nature of these tournaments, there will be multiple opportunities to play meaningful minutes. While it’s our desire to play each player equal minutes, this is not always feasible. Playing time will be at the discretion of each coach and will be merit based.
In addition:
It’s understood that players may participate in multiple sports and may have to miss practice/games. Playing time may be adjusted due to absences from regularly scheduled practices.
Playing time may be adjusted for significant “within game situations” such as mismatches or pressure defenses, etc., that would not help a player’s development or hinder the team’s success.
The goal is for every player to learn and develop by playing through their mistakes. However, we will not allow a player to remain in a position that harms his/her confidence or that he/she is not equipped to handle.
By allowing your child to participate in OFW Galaxy’s activities you agree to adhere to our code of conduct and team policies.
